Political Involvement

Although I am a lifelong Democrat, I count several Republicans among my closest friends and pride myself on working hard to maintain civil and respectful dialogue and communication with all people of good intentions.
— Catherine Stafford

Catherine is the third generation of her family to be active in local politics. Her grandmother, Bee Stafford, helped former Mayor Tomi Allison with her campaigns in the 80s; her parents and aunts and uncles have been officeholders and volunteers. Catherine's been personally active since helping her friend Alex Service (daughter of former District Six City Councilwoman Pam Service) with Pat William's state wide campaign in the mid 80s.

Catherine moved from occasional volunteer to dedicated staffer in the early 2000s, after returning to Bloomington from Minnesota. She is a founding board member of the Democratic Women's Caucus, and has been a volunteer for three other judicial campaigns before launching her own.
